ThermaSource at CANGEA's First Annual Conference

The Canadian Geothermal Energy Association (CANGEA) held their first annual conference in Vancouver, B.C. April 22-24, 2009. ThermaSource was invited to both exhibit and speak at the event.

Louis Capuano, Jr., CEO of ThermaSource gave a keynote speech on the morning of the first day, introducing the general concepts of geothermal energy and citing that Canada should try to capitalize on their budding geothermal potential.

The venue was held at Vancouver’s brand new, state-of-the-art Convention Center which is built more than 50% over the water! All of the major geothermal players from the West Coast, and the world attended, supporting Canada’s efforts to begin exploitation of their geothermal resources.

Louis also spoke on the second day, sharing a panel with ORMAT, Sierra Geothermal, and Magma Power, discussing each company’s contributions to the industry.

It was a great conference, that ended with a lot of momentum going forward for CANGEA and their energy goals.
